Hari Kemerdekaan bagi negara-negara di seluruh dunia..

Secara puratanya, kebanyakan negara di dunia ini terjajah oleh kuasa-kuasa asing yang dikenali sebagai kuasa kolonis atau kuasa penjajah. Kuasa-kuasa kolonis ini mula berkuasa menjelang kurun ke-15 apabila Portugis mula merintis jalan ke timur. Ia kemudian diikuti oleh Sepanyol melalui Christopher Columbus yang ‘menemui’ benua Amerika Utara dan Amerika Selatan pada dekad 1492. Selepas itu, banyak negara di Barat mula berminat untuk mengikuti jejak Portugis dan Sepanyol atas dasar Glory, Gold dan Gospel. Antara negara yang dimaksudkan adalah Belanda, England, Perancis, Jerman dan kemudian, Amerika Syarikat. Negara-negara ini berjaya mencuri kekayaan serta kemewahan di negara-negara yang mereka jajah sehingga mampu membina peradaban di negara mereka dan membiarkan negara yang dijajah kekal miskin dan tunduk kepada peradaban ‘moden’ mereka.

Namun, menjelang abad ke-20, banyak negara-negara kolonis terlibat dalam Perang Dunia Pertama dan Perang Dunia Kedua. Kedua-dua perang yang diiktiraf paling besar ini melibatkan pengeluaran wang yang banyak. Negara Amerika Syarikat contohnya, mereka telah terlibat dalam kegawatan ekonomi paling meruncing menjelang tahun 1930-an akibat kesan Perang Dunia Pertama dan beberapa faktor lain. Bergitu juga dengan England dan Perancis setelah berakhirnya Perang Dunia Kedua.

Berginilah sedikit gambaran penduduk Tanah Melayu semasa penjajahan British-mundur, miskin dan mudah diperalat.

 

Akhirnya, mereka akhirnya terpaksa melepaskan negara-negara yang selama ini mereka jajah kerana kesempitan dan sukarnya menguruskan kewangan di negara-negara  jajah. Selepas daripada itu, satu persatu negara memperoleh kemerdekaan dan negara yang terakhir merdeka adalah Kosovo apabila merdeka pada 17 Februari 2008.
